| RetroXotique | The Glamour of Fur |
|
Fur pieces of one form or another have
always been used to add a touch of soft elegance and glamour to feminine
fashion. And that was especially true during the mid-twentieth century
when well dressed women were seen with mink stoles about their shoulders and
supported in the crooks of their long gloved arms for both day and evening
wear. For many of us, the ubiquitous mink stole became a symbol of the
elegant, glamorous and even fetish fashions of that era - even to the point of
becoming a fetish item. With that thought in mind, we have started a
small collection of fashion photos and movie out takes (Guys and Dolls, and
How to Marry a Millionaire) from that era depicting just how mink stoles were
frequently used to make the female form look chic, elegant and ever so sexy
(for many of us anyway) during that era. If you agree, please contact us
and let us know. And if you have other examples, please pass them along
to Carl at carl@retroxotique.com for possible inclusion in a future update on
this theme. |
