We want to thank our good friend Paolo for
sharing his collection of illustrations by Jay, an artist I know many of us
have admired for years but no one seems to know very much about. Once
again, we believe these to be perfect examples of what Retroxotique is
all about - Retro foundation garments and stockings, high-heeled shoes and
boots, and Retroxotique fashions (glam and fetish) in general.
And a big plus for many of our readers and viewers - almost all of the
shapely females illustrated by Jay are in some form of bondage or restraint. Many
of the works we'll present here over time were produced for Irving Klaw;

There are a few other collections of similarly inspired illustrations out there that were produced about the same time (1950s to possibly the early 60s) and may well have been produced by Jay - or at least directly inspired by his works. If you have any such works, either known to have been produced by Jay himself, or for which you believe he might be responsible, or if you know anything more concerning the background or history of Jay, or if you would just like to discuss any of these matters further, then please contact us. Finally, if we have any would be writers who are inspired by any of these works, we would love to share your stories in accompaniment with the drawings that have awakened the muse within.
